Convert HTML to Markdown
Extract the report from a web page without the background junk
You get the article or report, not the website around it. A saved page carries hundreds of lines of scripts, menus, tracking tags and ad slots the AI would otherwise read. Converting to Markdown keeps the headings, links and tables and drops the rest.

What you get
- Headings, paragraphs, lists and tables in document order.
- Links kept as markdown links. Image alt text kept as a placeholder.
- No scripts, no stylesheets, no hidden tracking pixels.
Before you drop it in
- We convert the file you upload, not a live URL. Save the page from your browser first (Ctrl+S, Webpage, HTML only).
- Pages built entirely in JavaScript save as an empty shell. If the saved file is tiny, that's why.
What survives, what doesn't
| Headings, paragraphs, lists | ✓ Kept | |
| Links | ✓ Kept | |
| Tables | ✓ Kept | Markdown pipe tables. |
| Images | △ Partly | Alt text and the image path, not the picture. |
| Scripts, styles, layout | ✗ Lost | Stripped. |
| Menus, footers, sidebars | △ Partly | They come along with the content. Trim them in the output. |
What it looks like
A saved page with a heading, a link and a table converts to:
# Site induction Every visitor completes the [online induction](https://example.com/induction) **before** arriving. | Zone | PPE | | --- | --- | | Yard | Boots, vest | | Workshop | Boots, vest, glasses |
Questions about HTML
Can I paste a URL instead of a file?
Not yet. Save the page as HTML from your browser and upload that.
Why is the menu in my output?
Because it's in the file. The converter keeps everything that's visible content. Delete the navigation lines at the top and bottom.
Do images come through?
As alt text and a path. The picture itself isn't in the markdown.
