Convert CSV to Markdown
Stop your AI scrambling the numbers in a CSV export
Your AI reads rows and columns instead of a wall of commas. A raw CSV is where models lose track of which value belongs to which column. As a Markdown table every cell sits under its header, so audits and comparisons come back with the numbers in the right place.

What you get
- The header row as the table header.
- Every row as a table row, in order.
- Character encoding detected, so accented names don't turn to noise.
Before you drop it in
- Comma-separated only. If your export uses semicolons, open it in Excel and save as CSV UTF-8 first.
- Big exports make big tables. The meter shows the token count before you paste.
What survives, what doesn't
| Header row and values | ✓ Kept | |
| Row order | ✓ Kept | |
| Quoted fields with commas inside | ✓ Kept | |
| Very wide files | △ Partly | Fifty columns makes a fifty-column table. Drop the columns you don't need first. |
What it looks like
A stock list converts to:
| item | qty | location | | --- | --- | --- | | bolts M12 | 120 | Bay 3 | | nuts M12 | 96 | Bay 3 | | washers | 400 | Bay 1 |
Questions about CSV
Does it handle semicolon-separated files?
Not directly. Open in Excel, save as CSV UTF-8, then convert.
What about accented characters?
Encoding is detected automatically. If a file still looks wrong, save it as UTF-8 and try again.
Is there a row limit?
Only the 100 MB file limit. Watch the meter on very large files.
